ETHIOPIA HABTAMU GORO

From a family farm to a 837-hectare direct-export operation, Habtamu Fekadu Aga brings serious Ethiopian pedigree, pairing 74110 and 74112 JARC selections with a 1974 mother-tree lineage and community-first farming. Mechanically pulped, double-fermented, and slow-dried with obsessive precision, this coffee is a clean, expressive little genetic powerhouse with plenty of personality.

Meet the Producer

Aaga Dinsa

Founded in 2015 by Aaga Dinsa, grandson of a coffee farmer in Kuri kebele, Habtamu Fekadu Aga has grown from one family farm into a 837-hectare direct-export operation working with 144 outgrowers across some of Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee regions. With organic and Fair for Life certifications, they reinvest export premiums and 5% of profits into schools, roads, healthcare, and other community projects. Family roots, serious coffee, and a whole lot of care behind every cherry.

VARIETY

74110, 74112

74110 & 74112 are classic JARC selections with some serious genetic pedigree. 74110 traces back to a single “mother tree” selected in Bishari village in Oromia in 1974, while 74112 comes from the Metu Bishari forest selections of western Ethiopia. Both were selected by JARC for Coffee Berry Disease resistance, with compact growth, small leaves, and small cherries that pack plenty of genetic character.

PROCESSING

48-72 hour Washed Fermentation

Mechanically pulped and mucilage-reduced before controlled submerged fermentation, this coffee gets a second fermentation after washing, then slow-dries for 10–12 days on raised beds with plenty of turning, moisture checks, and defect sorting. Water comes from a deep gravel-rock well, while wastewater is treated by pH and contained to keep the surrounding environment happy. It’s a seriously dialed-in process that delivers a clean, clear, and expressive cup.
